Business energy grants across Nottinghamshire were largely funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which closed to new applications in March 2026. Here is where things stand, and the solar funding routes that still apply.
Where Nottinghamshire's business grants stand
Most business energy grants across Nottinghamshire in 2025–26, including Nottingham City Council's business decarbonisation grant and district schemes such as Newark & Sherwood's, were paid for by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. That fund closed to new applications on 31 March 2026, so there is no county-wide net zero business grant open to apply for right now. Check your district or county council's business support pages for new schemes.
Funding routes that still apply
- Annual Investment Allowance (AIA) — 100% of qualifying solar spend deducted in year 1, up to £1m a year.
- Asset finance — spread the cost while owning the system.
- Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) — no upfront cost for larger sites.
- Workplace Charging Scheme — up to £500 per socket for staff and fleet EV chargepoints.
