"Decided to get solar panels & battery storage after umming and arring for 6 months. If you're unsure about staying in your home long-term, think carefully — it's a large investment with no guaranteed return on house value. Kieren from KMM was great from the start — no pressure selling, gave me time to decide at my own pace, and built a system spec tailored to our current and future usage. Scaffolding: The crew were careful and professional on site, but the lead was reportedly rude to customers over the phone (suspect they use different scaffolders for different areas but worth a note because it wasn't very professional and makes KMM look bad). After they installed roof brackets, I went up myself and found cracked tiles I suspect wouldn't have been flagged — they were replaced once I raised it. Don't be afraid to check. Also, the guardrail poles were overlapping and clanging loudly in the wind at night — I fixed this myself after the installers had left. Scaffolding was up around 3 weeks total (monitoring required before removal) — worth warning neighbours in advance. Commissioning electrician: Friendly and knowledgeable. There was a wiring issue with the gateway on the day, but it was fixed quickly the following morning. He followed up afterwards and even offered a free weatherproofing upgrade — great customer care. Most frustrating part: The DNO approval process for SEG payments. My system was commissioned mid-January and I didn't receive export payments until end of March. I handled the paperwork myself which likely sped things up — I've heard others wait 6 months. Be prepared for this. Overall, happy with KMM — just go in with eyes open on the admin side. "I first enquired 4 months ago and soon got chatting to Kerin and we got on straightaway. He was in no way pushy on the sales and was there to answer any questions I had. He did all the relevant applications for me and the install was straight forward and done very quickly after the paper work cane back from UKPN. "Kmm are so easy to do business with. I phoned to ask questions and spoke with Keiren and after our discussion he said he could send his local guy Jon around if I liked. So I could get proper figures. There was no pressure at any time. Jon phoned a day or so later and arranged a time. Everything made sense because Jon explained so well. Once everything had been set in place, everyone turned up and did their thing, it was like clockwork, everyone knew their job, worked in unison and cleaned up afterwards. Jon organised everything perfectly. We had a problem with my old fuse board but Ricky sorted that out and now all seems excellent. I'm just waiting now to see how the next couple months affect my electric bills. I'm really happy with the whole experience. Jon definitely knows his stuff and sticks with you if you have any queries. His dedication to good service is exemplary. Even after completion, Jon still answers my contacts promptly. He's there providing good after sales no matter what. No wonder he's so busy. Kmm have definately got the right man for the job in south wales. Thank you team. You're awesome. Oh, and the cost of the system....its £100 pcm less on finance than my summer bill from the electric company. And that's without what the system produces into the equation."
