Zappi Solar EV Charger Installer United Kingdom

Certified Myenergi Zappi v2.1 installer covering the United Kingdom. The Zappi is the gold-standard solar-diverting EV charger — automatically tops up your EV from excess solar generation, no grid kWh used.

What makes the Zappi different

The Myenergi Zappi v2.1 is the only mass-market UK EV charger with native solar-divert and grid-divert intelligence built in. When your solar panels generate more than your home is using, the Zappi automatically routes the excess to your EV — at 6A minimum charge rate (1.4kW), rising as solar output increases. The result: free EV miles from your roof without importing a single grid kWh.

Zappi modes

  • Fast mode — charges from grid at full rated output. Use when you need range fast.
  • ECO mode — charges from solar first, tops up from grid if solar drops below charge rate. Best for everyday solar households.
  • ECO+ mode — solar-only. Pauses if solar drops below 1.4kW. Maximum solar savings.

Solar diversion in practice

On a typical UK 4kWp solar system in July, a Zappi running ECO+ delivers around 25-40 free EV miles per day. Over a year, that's around 4,000-6,000 free miles — worth £600-£900 in saved petrol at 2026 prices, or £150-£250 in saved EV grid-charging cost. Combined with smart tariffs like Octopus Intelligent Go (7.5p overnight charging), the Zappi pays for itself inside 2-3 years on most EV households.

KMM Zappi install process

  1. Site visit — check consumer unit capacity, supply rating, cable run distance, mounting location
  2. OZEV EV chargepoint grant application (if eligible — flat owners and renters can get up to £500 off)
  3. Installation (1 day for 7kW; 1-2 days for 22kW three-phase)
  4. Pairing with your solar inverter via CT clamp on the consumer unit incomer
  5. App setup and tariff configuration

FAQs

Will Zappi work with my existing solar system?
Yes — Zappi works with any solar inverter via a CT clamp around the consumer unit incomer. We fit the CT during install.
Zappi vs Wallbox Pulsar Plus?
Both are excellent. Zappi has stronger solar-divert intelligence and a slightly more refined app. Wallbox is cheaper and has a sleeker design. For solar households we recommend Zappi; for grid-only households Wallbox is fine.
Does Zappi work with Octopus Intelligent Go?
Yes — natively. Intelligent Go schedules your charge during cheap overnight windows; Zappi top-ups with solar during the day. The combination is the lowest-cost EV charging in the UK in 2026.
