Planning permission for solar panels in Leicester

Leicester City Council is the planning authority and lists 24 conservation areas, from All Saints and Aylestone village to Belgrave Hall. The council says Article 4 Directions cover most of them, so changes to a building's outward appearance there can need planning permission, and it asks owners to contact it before starting work. Outside those areas, roof panels on a house are normally permitted development if they sit within 0.2 m of the roof surface.
